I build scalable AI systems and developer tools. Right now I'm a founding engineer at CommandCode, where we're building the first coding agent with taste. Before that I worked on Langbase, BaseAI, and Command.new — products that ship AI infrastructure to thousands of developers. My best work comes from the intersection of developer experience and product thinking — systems that feel right to use because they were built with taste.

My research lives at the intersection of program synthesis and search. During my MS at the University of Alberta, I published Bee Search (AAAI 2024 / JAIR) — a best-first bottom-up search algorithm that uses learned cost functions to guide synthesis — and POLIS (IJCAI 2023), a local search method for program optimization. I'm drawn to problems where search and optimization meet code generation, and I still think about these ideas often.

I studied computer science at UET Lahore and the University of Minnesota, then earned my MS at the University of Alberta. Along the way I've worked on LLM optimization for edge devices and LLVM compiler optimization at Huawei, and built enterprise AI systems at Afiniti.

Outside of work, I travel and take photographs. I like wandering through new cities with a camera and no itinerary — it's the closest thing to debugging the real world.
